In search of a sense of identity, this piece attempts to summarize my experiences growing up in Chile, South America, The Pacific ocean, The Andes mountains, The social unrest that shapes my interpretation of the world. About the collection: During my time in Buenos Aires over the past two years, I’ve experienced a sense of immersion in an environment that merges the past and present, the tangible and the ethereal. The city evokes a variety of memories, both lived and subconscious. I find myself going back to places that I lived, the places I left behind, diverse spaces that shaped me. This series seeks to intertwine elements of the subconscious, creating a dynamic reality in perpetual change, where the only constant is continuous adaptation.
Technical aspects: This series comprises photographs taken at the many places I have once called home, processed in Photoshop and imported into p5.js (JavaScript). Specific algorithms allowed for the interaction and constant visual transformations that are both evocative and dreamlike. The outputs generated in p5.js were exported and, using FFmpeg, a code-based processing tool, the image sequences were assembled into a video, achieving greater cohesion and fluidity in the audiovisual piece.
